Tea Plantation Dawn Walk & Tasting
Published: October 12, 2026
About This Experience
Before mist lifts from the terraces, pluckers already move along the contour lines—two leaves and a bud, the classic pick that decides cup quality months later. This dawn plantation walk takes you into living tea gardens while dew still beads on new growth, with a guide who explains elevation, cultivar, and why the same bush tastes different after monsoon rain.
You will practice a few respectful plucks under supervision, visit the withering and rolling rooms when production allows, and sit for a structured tasting of green, oolong, or black lots from the same estate. The emphasis is craft and labor dignity—not a rushed souvenir shop circuit. Small groups (maximum ten) keep paths quiet and questions answered.
End with a light highland breakfast and optional purchase of estate-packed leaf—traceable lots, not generic tourist blends. Photography is welcome on terraces; flash and drones are not, both for workers’ comfort and plant health protocols.

Reviews
Walking the terraces at dawn was meditative—no loudspeakers, just birds and the soft sound of plucking. The cupping taught me why my usual supermarket tea tastes flat. Breakfast was simple and perfect. Worth every early alarm minute.
