Truffle Forage & Farmhouse Feast
Published: July 16, 2026
About This Experience
Before dawn mist lifts from oak and hazel woods, a trained dog already knows the morning’s work: reading soil scent that human noses miss entirely. This guided truffle forage pairs you with a licensed hunter and their canine partner on private woodland where seasonal black or white truffles fruit according to rain, temperature, and tree partnerships older than the farmhouse kitchen waiting at the end of the trail.
You will learn how mycelium networks feed trees, why overharvesting destroys future yields, and how to spot the subtle ground signs that foragers watch for—disturbed leaf litter, insect activity, and the dog’s sudden stillness. Finds are never guaranteed; nature sets the menu. What is guaranteed is deep context: soil science, regional culinary history, and the ethics of leaving enough for the forest to renew.
After the walk, return to a stone farmhouse for a multi-course lunch built around seasonal vegetables, house-made pasta or polenta, and a restrained shaving of the morning’s harvest when luck allows—or a cellar reserve when the woods are quiet. Small groups (maximum eight) keep paths uncrowded and the table conversational.

Reviews
We found two modest black truffles—nothing Instagram-legendary—but the dog’s focus and the forager’s ecology talk made the morning unforgettable. Lunch was the real star: handmade tagliatelle, garden greens, and just enough shaved truffle to understand why people obsess. Intimate, respectful, zero tourist-trap energy.
